You tickle me

Here are a few things that make me laugh when thinking of Garrett right now.

He is obsessed on growing bigger.  We have the markings on his wall to track how much he is growing.  EVERY night after dinner and he cleans his plate he jumps up and says "I've grown, come measure me" while he is running down the hallway to your room.  As your voice his fading down the hall I can hear you say "BRING YOUR PEN".  So we bring our pen and measure you.
You think it is hilarious for me to tell you to stop growing.  Sometimes you even ask me to tell you that.  Then you just smile and tell me you are going to be bigger than me (which I have no doubt I will be looking up to you in just a few short years).
You still have a love/hate relationship with Sandy.   Sandy feels the same way.  You only want to be kissed when you want to be kissed.  If she tries to kiss you and you aren't ready you yell at her!  On the other hand you torture poor Sandy.  You have made her wear Daddy's shoes and hug and lay on her when you want to snuggle.  She is ready every morning for you and goes into you room before you are awake and starts yelping so that you will get up and play.  And then after you are up 5 minutes she is done with you.  Every morning this occurs!
You come equipped with your own sound effects.  The only time you are silent is when you are sleeping.  You aren't even quiet then because you talk and make noises then too.  You mainly sound like a race car about 90% of the time.  It makes me smile still every time.
You pick your nose all the time and you know it drives me crazy!  You mainly do this when we are driving somewhere.  I always tell you that I have eyes in the back of my head and can see you doing this.  Every time I bust you, you jump about 3 feet because you are so concentrated on picking your nose.  UGH.  The last time we busted you, you asked "If you don't see me picking my nose then is it OK?"  Um no it is still not OK!
You love trucks, trailers, race cars, emergency and work vehicles of any type.  When we drive you always yell out with a lot of enthusiasm.  If by chance your dad or I don't see it you say "You missed it, you weren't paying attention!"
You still tell me all the time that I'm pretty.  I love it.  You will tell me first thing that I am pretty and you melt my heart.

You are just a funny kid that always keeps us laughing.  You are three however and have your "moments".  Good heavens when you have them....but I will take them any day because you are such a sweetie.

A case of the blahs!

Not sure why, but I have not been able to get back on track!  On track I mean eating right and exercising.  I've been very tired lately and I know it's because I'm not eating the "right" things.  For the last 10 working days we have had company lunches.  Some of them are healthy, but others not so much.  We've also had chocolate, cookies, donuts, real chips, etc.  I have a huge weakness for these foods.  A few months ago, these foods would not have been phased me.  I don't know why I can't say No to these any longer.
Also, after the half marathon I went from running all the time to burned out!  My brothers wedding is less than a month away.  Hopefully I can get back into the swing of this.  I know it will make me feel better and have more energy.

Date night with my 100% BOY

Josh had some things to do tonight, so Garrett and I had a date night.  I picked him up from school and we got two books from his book fair at school.  Of course we had to get a book about monster trucks!  100% BOY!
Our missing tonight was to find some flip flops and/or sandals.  This child of mine is addicted to his Spider Man shoes.  ADDICTED!  They are super tacky.  You know, the kind that light up and he just loves them, so I love them.  However I do wish he would wear the very handsome New Balance shoes he has too.  His feet are so hot when he comes home from  playing outside at school.  We tried to get flip flops last year, but Garrett's feet were too big.  I couldn't get them to fit and it made me sad for him.  He wanted flip flops like his buddies, but bless that boys feet!
So we ran as fast as possible to a local shoe place here and got there 5 minutes to close.  I hate being that customer, but we needed some shoes!  They asked what we were looking for and I told her sandals or flip flops.  Guess what the first pair she pulled out were??? SPIDERMAN!!!  Holy smokes it was a dream come true!!!  He was pumped.  The question is did they fit?  YES!!!  We were off to a good start!
Next we headed to Waffle House for dinner.  I had the bright idea to use some hand sanitizer before eating no knowing that someone had a cut on their finger.  Ugh.  Tears for like 5 minutes.  Seriously.  We were getting the eyes from everyone in The Waffle House.  He finally stopped crying.
We headed over to Old Navy after that.  Garrett wanted a muscle shirt.  Before Garrett I swore that my boy would never wear those shirts.  Funny how you eat your words when you see how happy your child gets.  So we went to get more muscle shirts (it will help even out that tan too) and a pair of sandals from Old Navy.  SCORE!
We went to Grandmommy and Pops after that so that they could see his new flip flops!  He was so very excited.
All in all a great date night and I know someone that will be ready to wear his new shoes tomorrow!

Easter 2012

Wow, April was super BUSY.  I only did two post and I don't think I am going to have time to catch up on everything that went on in detail, but am going to try and catch up April tonight.  Shew.
Easter was so wonderful.  As we get further and further along with Garrett he is just so much fun!  Here are a few pictures from his Easter Weekend.  He loved to "hunt" for the eggs.  We have even done egg hunts after Easter :-)  haha!!

Check out my little man.  So stinking precious...

The Easter Bunny left baskets at Grandmommy and Pops house for Garrett, Mommy & Daddy and Preston & Nicole :-)

Do you think he's excited??
